Salon ruined my hair.. i need help going from red to blond!?

i have dyed my hair red several times, and last year i wanted to go blond.. i used blond hairdye, but my color did not change AT ALL!! someone told me the only way to cover red is to go darker, so i dyed it an ash brown.. it covered great, but now its fading and the red was beginning to come through and it looked really brassy.. i want it to be blond (my natural color) so i went to the salon. the girl messed my hair up very badly. first she used a platinum blond dye and it turned my hair ORANGE!! then she dyed it back to brown, and then she put highlights in it.. the bleach from the highlights also made my hair orange.. so now my hair is brown with orange highlights.. what can i do to fix this? i need some serious help! im also very worried about damage.. i know it went through a lot this weekend! thanks in advance.Salon ruined my hair.. i need help going from red to blond!?
You have problems. First of all I am glad you are worried about damage, cause you should be!!! All that color removal is damaging.

You should try to get some conditioning treatments before you apply anymore color on your hair. As for the stylist that messed your hair up, she/he should be giving you these repairative treatments. If not, try Red Ken Extreme products. They work well. Please get professional help for your hair. OTC or box colors have metallic dyes that give you unpredictable results. That could have been the cause of the outcome. You need a color with a blue or blue/violet base. Blue neutralizes orange. You may be able to just tone your hair and that may change your highlights...Good luckSalon ruined my hair.. i need help going from red to blond!?
You are going to pay, pay, pay. It is going to take a GOOD stylist a while to fix your hair. They'll need to do en enzyme treatment (or two) to remove the color and residue. Then they can put whatever color you want on it. Call around and find a salon that has different levels of stylists. If everyone at the salon charges $35 for a color, don't go there. I had a similiar experience and it cost me $50 to mess up my hair and $750 to get it fixed. Be prepared to spend some serious time in the chair (mine took 6 hours to go from fushia ~ think Kelly Osborn ~ to blonde) and some serious cash. Good luck.
For a quick fix that will be gentle on your hair use dish soap and wash and wash your hair. Red is the largest color molecule so once it's in, it's hard to ';push'; out. If the salon messed up your hair, then go back and make them fix it. it's their job.
I am a cosmetologist and have been for 20 years. First of all, you need a DEEP restorative conditioner. Emergencee by Nexus is great. If you are on a tight budget, Infusium 23 is cheaper and works well. After you condition the hair for 3-4 days, twice a day if your hair is VERY damaged, then you can think about color. Conventional wisdom is that color will not lift color hence your problem when you tried to lift the brown. I do not like talking smak on other stylists, but your stylist knows nothing about color. There is a product called ';Color Erase'; this will remove color from hair, but not natural pigment. This is ALOT less damaging than bleach. You should end up with a color close to your natural. From there, you should be able to lift it to your desired color. PRECAUTIONS: Do not try this at home kiddies! Find a stylist who knows what they are doing and have them do it! Be careful of having them use an ash blonde. This will most likely turn your hair a mud green color. If that happens you are screwed beyond belief! That mud color only can grow out. It can be covered, but it will poke through. I feel for you. If you lived near the shop I work in, I would do it for next to nothing. which brings me to my last point. Be prepared to pay! Corrective color takes lots of time and knowledge and most likely you will pay alot for both depending on where you live. Good luck!
You really need to get a professional to do it. Not the one that messed it up... I would call the salon and ask them which hairdresser is best to do color correction. Your hair is probably pretty fragil at this point, but a good stylist can help!

If the salon messed up your hair, contact a local fair trades council.
The red will continue to come through. Keep dying it with ash brown until it kind of blends with the red. Dye it a dark brown.. or use a bit of peroxide to strip it a bit.. and then dye it brown so it really covers the red. The red is an asshole lol i kow it too well. Even brown will look red evetually regardless of what colour have under it.
I would put some brown on it and live with it for a while. It is going to be fried if you keep bleaching it. Go to qvc.com and get some Jonathan shampoo and conditioner. It is really the best stuff I have ever used on my hair. I have been using it for about 3 weeks and it is like I have a whole new head of hair!!! Honest!! My hair has never looked so good!
dye it a golden blonde or any golden color because if you keep putting ash over top it will turn your hair green
i hate when this happens first of all red +yellow = ORANGE all the time it never fails. go back to that salon and get your money back. you should have used (while your hair was brown) a product called kaliedcolor yellow that would have taken you back blonde. find a color specialist in your city and pay the price. it might be expensive but you will get your desired color. also try redken's extreme line it will help strengthen your hair and help repair anu damage
