Is there really a difference between using those expensive hair products from the salon vs. a drug store brand

ok, here I go... I'm am a stylist, and all I can say is. thereisnodifferenceincleansersandconditi鈥?ok, what you get in a salon that is different is supposed to be a professional recomendation that suits your hair. there are some different additives that can build up on hair, but a good clarifying shampoo once every other week can take care of that... I tried both kind, there is no difference, its just the way you apply the product.

It is all about the ingredients not where you bought it or how much you paid.
Not much difference. The salon suppliers have a vested interest in keeping their products out of retail stores. For example, Aveda would not be able to charge what they charge if there was a lot of competition. On the downside, too much price competition will have the effect of lowering the quality of the product.





Shampoo and conditioner can only marginally change bad hair.
Pick your salon brand that you really like and check the ingredient list against that drugstore brand. The first set of ingredients should be pretty close, and those usually are.
there is a difference. the ones at the drug store are imitations and the ones at the salons are the real thing. they may be more expensive but they work a lot better than the drug store ones.

I have worked in a salon previously and I know all they do is charge a high price for something mediocre that you can achieve the same results from something of the shelf of any store. I've also used various salon products that said they did one thing, but did the opposite, among a few other things I wasn't pleased about. But hey, it's your wallet and head, do what you want. I prefer saving money and buying products that actually work.
Salon products are much better in quality ingredients, as a rule. I try both and the salon products always are better.
Salon products tend to run up in price but the quality is usually much better.
