Best shampoo for dry hair????Willing to pay salon prices.?

Does anyone no of any good brands of shampoo in conditioners. I have dry, fine slightly damaged(dyed) hair?

I want the best shampoo that will make my hair as soft and shinny as possible!

I AM willing to pay for salon prices, and please NO cheap drugstore brands.

Why:

1.) I have very sensitive skin, I need something that doesn't have artitifical dyes and fragrances. Salon brands usually don't have any unnessary ingredients, the ingredients serves it purpose..and nothing else. They don't need any cool colors and fragrances to make them more appeling.

2.) Salon brands-or at least some-have higher quality of ingredients and MOST don't contain any harsh chemicals, preservitives, and waxes-which are bad for your hair, they strip the natural oils from your hair. Cheap brands usually put these in(particularly waxes)so it will have the same fill as a high quality product.

3.) You pay what you get for. Don't ever think that you can get the same result from something cheap!!Best shampoo for dry hair????Willing to pay salon prices.?
Silk is a good brand. So is NexusBest shampoo for dry hair????Willing to pay salon prices.?
Aveda is a very good brand! Also mane an tail. A good conditioner is one with hahoba oil, and urea. I use these on my hair and when I move my head, my hair flows as if like silk blowing in the wind.
pantene... i think is the best!!!

just go and find for dry hear.... my friend had this problem and she resolved with pantene

  • Which salon-sold hair product would work best for me?

I have very dry, brittle hair. It is this way because of all the bleaching done to it and blonde hair dye over the years. I haven't dyed it since May of 2008, yet because of the damaging history, it is left this way. Some areas are soft, some are decent, and some are just completely dried out. My hair is also pretty short, shoulder length right about now. I use Sun-in products sometimes, but not all the time. Maybe once or twice a week, just so that the roots don't grow in like crazy. Now, my question is, what salon-sold hair product line would work best for me? Yes, salon-sold / quality, I am looking for GREAT results. Not instantly but certainly noticeable. I also have to blow dry my hair in the mornings, because it takes a very long time to air-dry, I also straighten it quite often, just to keep away the annoying curls. What line is best for me?

Ex. Redken, Biolage, Paul Mitchells, etc...Which salon-sold hair product would work best for me?
Nexxus. They have a new dualiste line out right now thats amazing.

Also, stop straighening and blow drying it. if u must, use TRESemme heat tamer spray from Target. Use these things to repair your hair:

    *V05 hot oil treatments

    *TRESemme heat tamer spray

*Coconut oil [leave in for about 2 hours then rinse it out then shampoo and condition ur hair]

*aussie three minute miracle [use as normal conditioner]

Wash ur hair every other day. do the hot oil treatments about every 2 weeks or so. Use the aussie three minute miracle as a normal conditioner. Also, you should limit heat styling to once a week or LESS. no more. also, use a ceramic straighener. I sugest a GHD. theyre the BEST! [www.ghdhair.com] u still need to use the heat protectant. Try researching more ways to repair your hair.Which salon-sold hair product would work best for me?
first off SUN IN IS BAD! It never stops working, every time you go out in the sun it continues to lighten until you get it cut off! Dumb Blonde is really good and it keeps those brassy under tones under control. I agree with peaches with the super skinny it is an awesom product, just don't use to much. you can also use a little after you straighten, it will keep the frizzies away!

    ? redtwizmania@hotmail.com
First, stop using the Sun-In, that's just as bad as chemically bleaching it.

I've heard great things about Biosilk.

Aveda has a new moisturizing line for damaged hair that's fantastic.

Right now I'm using Matrix Smooth Look shampoo and conditioner, and that works well, too.

Paul Mitchell Super Skinny serum is good to use on damp hair, before you blow dry. There are a few different products (another Redken one is called Smooth Down) that protect very well from heat styling.

    ';Dont do it, it will take you for ever and you will give up. Go to a proper salon, I have been and it only took three treatments at 拢100 a time to totally get rid of my bikini and underarm hair. I booked a course of six but did not need them (you go every six to eight weeks). I now have a smooth area instead of a hairy one, and it only took three 15 minute visits. You will spend weeks and weeks with a Rio. I am getting a refund for the other three unused visits so you cant lose. Also they often offer two areas for the price of one or 20% off courses,so shop around. I am in England and used Skin Clinics.';

I can't dye my hair, but i want another source that can lighten it without going to the salon?

I have dirty blond hair, and my mother told me I'm not allowed to dye it. I want to lighten it without going to the salon, but i heard that sun-in is really bad and i shouldn't use it. Any other ideas?

    thanks!

Sun In isn't as bad as people say, it has the same lightening effect as lemons and not half as bad as bleaching!

The reason it has a bad reputation is that people with dark brown hair try it and they go orange!

You will be ok because you already have blonde hair (even if it is a dirty blonde shade, you have no red in it) so all you need to do is spray it in and sit in the sun or use a hairdryer if the sun isn't shining. It works better than lemon juice and lightens much quicker - you get natural looking highlights if you don't over - do it.

Make sure you condition your hair well when you wash it as it can be drying.
Yeah no matter how blonde you are sun in turns it orange.

My dad used to this in the summer when in the sun, it bleaches it out for that natural sunkissed look.

    1 part Hydrogen Peroxide

    1 part lemon juice

    Splash of water

When you are by the pool spray this on and let the sun do the work. It works really well if its repeated and your in the sun for a while. The chlorine from the pool also helps.
I've heard the lemon juice-sun thing for years. Tried it and it didn't work. But the sun thing bothers me because that's what causes my hair to get like straw when I'm working in the garden. Has for years so I try to always wear a hat. You can get hair bleach, do a test patch first. It's safer than sun. And lots faster.
pure lemon juice. put it in a spritzer (u can get em from garden shops) and just spray on ur hair, the sunshine will do the rest, it gives it a naturel look and ur hair will smell lovely. u just wash it out as normal at the end of the day. if its bad weather just use a blow dryer. it really does work. good luck chick :)

use lemmons it's soo healthy. ( i just found out you can dye ur hair with kool aid!!! wow lolzz idk what that has to do with this but i wanted to share lol)
Some people put lemon juice in their hair and then lay on in the sun. It is supposed to help lighten it. I would try that! :)
    bleach. technically its not dye.
    sun-in?
Some peoples hair lightens if they spend alot of time in the sun.
Lemon Juice and sun. But if your hair is dark it will turn it orange be careful
    i no its gross

but puttin lemon on your hair then going in the sun would lighten it
    lemon juice
ya, that sun - in or other products similar are all at the store...they are not unsafe ?
use lemon juice and go sit out in the sun
lemon juice then lay out in the sun when its dry then rinse your hair out
ya sun in can turn your hair odd colors.

In the past i had good luck with a clariol ';hi lift'; hair dye( torrids) using 40 peroxide that i bought at sally's but i would like to know the best hi lift color out there. what brand and color have you used and were to buy it. i have med brown hair so i believe i need the hi lift with 40 developer. I believe i need a violet base. Iam looking for the brand of dyethat salons use. also, can i 40 peroxide hi lift on my hair that was bleached/ toned at a salonSalon quality hair color?

if its black black hair color its going to be a bit difficult to do so, if you throw the ash brown over the gray its going to be two diffrent colors depending on your out growth i would start off with a dark brown and start lighting your hair that way, it will be a lot easier. and let the color sit on you roots a little longer color them first then you ends

Color it yourself. Go to Wal-Mart and find the color that you want your hair to be and then color it. If your hair is long make sure that you get 2 colors. Look at the back of the box to see what your haircolor will come out useing the color that you want. It is easy. I have done it forever.

    http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o52/oc_apple/himemagazines/hairrr.jpgSalon tomorrow! Hair color Advice?
You look way better with your current, natural hair color. Because the darker color could bring out the unique beauty of you based on your skin color. Not too many young girls recognize their unique beauty and how to bold her beauty with a proper hair color and styles.

If you wish to change color of your hair, I suggest you to have some high-light (so that you may keep your natural hair color) on your hair, like dark purple or dark burgundy for a change.

By the way, you look really pretty.

I went to a salon and my hair is orange and not blonde...?

i went to a salon to get my hair blonde underneath and light brown on top and underneath its blonde roots that fades into BRIGHT ORANGE

and everyone says a salon knows what they are doing but i dont wanna go back and i rahter try to fix it myself but how?I went to a salon and my hair is orange and not blonde...?
If you want platinum blonde, buy some powder hair bleach and a bottle of 40 volume peroxide. Mix and apply. 40 volume is so strong it will strip just about ANY color out of hair, including your orange. Just make sure you condition your hair like crazy afterward because bleaching cooks your hair so it may be a bit dry. Condition, condition, condition. Good luck.I went to a salon and my hair is orange and not blonde...?
What kind of salon did you go to? We would have to know what color hair you have. If it is orange you obviously need bleach which is extremely hard on the hair as it strips the hair shaft of color. The person that did your hair, judge the length of developing your hair WRONG and did not use a high enough volume.

PS Next time try spell check.
Please do not do it yourself. Besides risking to completely ruining your hair (it actually happend to me in the past), go to a reputable hairsalon and have them fix it. Since you have so many colors in your hair, it would be extremely risky to try to fix it yourself
I wouldn't do it yourself. Your hair needs to be stripped of it's color and redyed blonde. Apparently the salon tried dying it lighter just by adding a blonde color. Get reviews and references on a salon and have them fix it. The only way to get those colors out is by stripping it and you can ruin your hair if you do it yourself. Trust me I know; I have dark brown hair and one salon turned my hair an orange. I tried redying it back and the dye would just wash out. They ruined my hair. My only salvation was either to let it grow out or have a trusted salon fix it by the above mentioned way. Good luck!
id go back and have them fix it!! they prolly didnt leave it on long enough to go through all of your hair.
I really don't see what people get from dieing there hair.
Walk into the salon and demand a refund! You go in there hoping to have blond and you come out with orange?! I would be so mad!!! Or just go into the salon, tell them what happened and then they will fix it... :)

My hair is naturally red and i dyed it black what do i do to get it back without possibly going to a salon?

Ohh, I know what you are going through. I am a blonde and went dark brown/black with bright white bangs. To get it back, I had to go to the salon and it is still not back. My hairdresser did highlights all over and then put a toner on it. We've done this twice over the last two months. Otherwise, she would have had to bleach out all the color first and then put on the dye that is the same as my natural color. It is going to take some time but I didn't want the all over bleach, it will fry your hair. So, we will do the highlights again and then eventually the color will be even and I can put a single dye on it to match my original. Trust me go to a professional, you will upset if you didn't. Or go to a hair college and let the students and teachers work on your hair, it might be like a project for them and you might be able to get a discount. My hair is naturally red and i dyed it black what do i do to get it back without possibly going to a salon?
It is easy to add color to your hair, it is much harder to lighten it again, and even if you get some of the black color out, most likely it will take time for your natural color to return. I heard Prell shampoo can help remove color from a bad dye job. But I wouldnt try to dye it back yourself, unless you are a colorist. My hair is naturally red and i dyed it black what do i do to get it back without possibly going to a salon?
You really should go to a salon... sorry...

The detergent answer will RUIN your hair. It's likely already course since it's red.

You MIGHT be able to die it red again.... but it's not like you are trying to go from blonde to brown... this is a serious change, and if you do it wrong, you could wind up with VERY damaged hair by the time you are done.

Ask Mom for $$ if that's the prob.... or be prepared to cut it off and start all over again.

Some things are worth paying for...
nothing you can do but go to a salon although i heard this before not sure if its true but that if you use laundry detergent thats powder it takes out the dye but don't quote me on it
    Shave your head and wait
dont do anything yourself. the best thing to do is go and get it dyed back red. or you have to wait for it to grow out and thats a tedious and ugly process when your hair ends up two different colors. the best way is to just dye it back to the natural color

Salon ruined my hair.. i need help going from red to blond!?

i have dyed my hair red several times, and last year i wanted to go blond.. i used blond hairdye, but my color did not change AT ALL!! someone told me the only way to cover red is to go darker, so i dyed it an ash brown.. it covered great, but now its fading and the red was beginning to come through and it looked really brassy.. i want it to be blond (my natural color) so i went to the salon. the girl messed my hair up very badly. first she used a platinum blond dye and it turned my hair ORANGE!! then she dyed it back to brown, and then she put highlights in it.. the bleach from the highlights also made my hair orange.. so now my hair is brown with orange highlights.. what can i do to fix this? i need some serious help! im also very worried about damage.. i know it went through a lot this weekend! thanks in advance.Salon ruined my hair.. i need help going from red to blond!?
You have problems. First of all I am glad you are worried about damage, cause you should be!!! All that color removal is damaging.

You should try to get some conditioning treatments before you apply anymore color on your hair. As for the stylist that messed your hair up, she/he should be giving you these repairative treatments. If not, try Red Ken Extreme products. They work well. Please get professional help for your hair. OTC or box colors have metallic dyes that give you unpredictable results. That could have been the cause of the outcome. You need a color with a blue or blue/violet base. Blue neutralizes orange. You may be able to just tone your hair and that may change your highlights...Good luckSalon ruined my hair.. i need help going from red to blond!?
You are going to pay, pay, pay. It is going to take a GOOD stylist a while to fix your hair. They'll need to do en enzyme treatment (or two) to remove the color and residue. Then they can put whatever color you want on it. Call around and find a salon that has different levels of stylists. If everyone at the salon charges $35 for a color, don't go there. I had a similiar experience and it cost me $50 to mess up my hair and $750 to get it fixed. Be prepared to spend some serious time in the chair (mine took 6 hours to go from fushia ~ think Kelly Osborn ~ to blonde) and some serious cash. Good luck.
For a quick fix that will be gentle on your hair use dish soap and wash and wash your hair. Red is the largest color molecule so once it's in, it's hard to ';push'; out. If the salon messed up your hair, then go back and make them fix it. it's their job.
I am a cosmetologist and have been for 20 years. First of all, you need a DEEP restorative conditioner. Emergencee by Nexus is great. If you are on a tight budget, Infusium 23 is cheaper and works well. After you condition the hair for 3-4 days, twice a day if your hair is VERY damaged, then you can think about color. Conventional wisdom is that color will not lift color hence your problem when you tried to lift the brown. I do not like talking smak on other stylists, but your stylist knows nothing about color. There is a product called ';Color Erase'; this will remove color from hair, but not natural pigment. This is ALOT less damaging than bleach. You should end up with a color close to your natural. From there, you should be able to lift it to your desired color. PRECAUTIONS: Do not try this at home kiddies! Find a stylist who knows what they are doing and have them do it! Be careful of having them use an ash blonde. This will most likely turn your hair a mud green color. If that happens you are screwed beyond belief! That mud color only can grow out. It can be covered, but it will poke through. I feel for you. If you lived near the shop I work in, I would do it for next to nothing. which brings me to my last point. Be prepared to pay! Corrective color takes lots of time and knowledge and most likely you will pay alot for both depending on where you live. Good luck!
You really need to get a professional to do it. Not the one that messed it up... I would call the salon and ask them which hairdresser is best to do color correction. Your hair is probably pretty fragil at this point, but a good stylist can help!

If the salon messed up your hair, contact a local fair trades council.
The red will continue to come through. Keep dying it with ash brown until it kind of blends with the red. Dye it a dark brown.. or use a bit of peroxide to strip it a bit.. and then dye it brown so it really covers the red. The red is an asshole lol i kow it too well. Even brown will look red evetually regardless of what colour have under it.
I would put some brown on it and live with it for a while. It is going to be fried if you keep bleaching it. Go to qvc.com and get some Jonathan shampoo and conditioner. It is really the best stuff I have ever used on my hair. I have been using it for about 3 weeks and it is like I have a whole new head of hair!!! Honest!! My hair has never looked so good!
dye it a golden blonde or any golden color because if you keep putting ash over top it will turn your hair green
i hate when this happens first of all red +yellow = ORANGE all the time it never fails. go back to that salon and get your money back. you should have used (while your hair was brown) a product called kaliedcolor yellow that would have taken you back blonde. find a color specialist in your city and pay the price. it might be expensive but you will get your desired color. also try redken's extreme line it will help strengthen your hair and help repair anu damage

If i go to a salon with aleady dyed hair and ask them to give me highlights and lighten it will they do it?

of course they will! They can also fix up bad dye jobs, touch up roots, etc.

btw, it is not good to dye your hair yourself. Store-bought dyes are very damaging. Professional salon dyes are much easier on your hair and look nicer too!If i go to a salon with aleady dyed hair and ask them to give me highlights and lighten it will they do it?
um.. why not? its more money for them. of course they will.If i go to a salon with aleady dyed hair and ask them to give me highlights and lighten it will they do it?

hi want to dye my back hair blonde like when u put it in a pony tail u will c it dyed..... should i do it myself or salon..... what color of blonde is it and if i do it myself what type of dye should i use like the brand. and instructions on how to do it... thanx 4 all the help!!!!Dying hair DIY or salon?
it really depends on what color your hair is now. and i would say, since it's the back of your hair i would def go with a salon, because you can't see it that well or really be in control. i tried to do that to my hair, with purple, and it was a disaster. i had to cover the whole thing with black! lolDying hair DIY or salon?
i use both but go to salon just in case
    diy
I know lots of people who have done this themselves, but ost of them have been coloring their hair since they were twelve. my suggestion: salon it. you'll have to bleah your hair, so either have an experienced friend help you with it, and help you seperate your ahir into two ponytail and the like, or, get a pro to do it for you. that way there's less of a risk of it not working well, or frying your hair completely.
The darker your natural color the more imperative it is to go to a salon. It is hard to lift brunette hair to blonde. It can take 2 steps to avoid ending up w/ an ugly orange or dull yellow.
you should definitely go to the salon!!!! It's much cheaper because if you were to mess up you would have to pay

    $$$ original kit

    $$$ fix hair color

    salons are also much safer!!!
i would only color your own hair if it is the whole head... i tried to do frosting in my husbands hair and it looked like SPOTS! no very pretty!
    salon wayy safer!
SALON PLEASE THERE NOTHING WORST THAN A BADDYE JOB SPEND THE MONEY NOW LOOK GREATER LATER
definately go to the salon if youre going blonde!!!
do it yourself if you think your good enough its a LOT cheaper!!! but if u dont feel comfortable i would go to the salon.
SALON!!!!!!!!!!!!! Remember that cosmotologists are trained to reverse color if you dont like it or fix any color that is unwanted. If you do it at home and you dont like it you are so screwed! You get what you pay for!!!
It sort of depends on how dark your hair is. If you have very dark hair and you diy it could turn orange.
TotALLY Go to a salon cause if you want it to look good they will probably do it right.. But if diy use Loreal....
Go to a salon at least the first time. It's so easy to f----up.

Watch everything they do and everything they use and one of these days you will know what your doing. Good Luck
    lolz

Is there really a difference between using those expensive hair products from the salon vs. a drug store brand

ok, here I go... I'm am a stylist, and all I can say is. thereisnodifferenceincleansersandconditi鈥?ok, what you get in a salon that is different is supposed to be a professional recomendation that suits your hair. there are some different additives that can build up on hair, but a good clarifying shampoo once every other week can take care of that... (i'm gonna get thrown outa the hairdressers union)Is there really a difference between using those expensive hair products from the salon vs. a drug store brand
I tried both kind, there is no difference, its just the way you apply the product.

you have to know the secret of using which product that works best for your skin or hair, and how best to apply it for your own skin or hair cause it differs from one to anotherIs there really a difference between using those expensive hair products from the salon vs. a drug store brand
It is all about the ingredients not where you bought it or how much you paid.
Not much difference. The salon suppliers have a vested interest in keeping their products out of retail stores. For example, Aveda would not be able to charge what they charge if there was a lot of competition. On the downside, too much price competition will have the effect of lowering the quality of the product.

Shampoo and conditioner can only marginally change bad hair.
Pick your salon brand that you really like and check the ingredient list against that drugstore brand. The first set of ingredients should be pretty close, and those usually are.
there is a difference. the ones at the drug store are imitations and the ones at the salons are the real thing. they may be more expensive but they work a lot better than the drug store ones.
    Yes. Price.

I have worked in a salon previously and I know all they do is charge a high price for something mediocre that you can achieve the same results from something of the shelf of any store. I've also used various salon products that said they did one thing, but did the opposite, among a few other things I wasn't pleased about. But hey, it's your wallet and head, do what you want. I prefer saving money and buying products that actually work.
Salon products are much better in quality ingredients, as a rule. I try both and the salon products always are better.
Salon products tend to run up in price but the quality is usually much better.

I would like to take my pale hair darker considerably darker and do not want to go to the salon any suggestion

When you say pale hair, is it chemically treated or very very pale? If so, your best bet is to go to a salon or beauty school (it's pretty inexpensive and the hairdressers are always supervised by a teacher). The reason being the light hair will pick up the base colors of the darker shade desired without a filler being applied prior to the color. If you feel your ok and don't need a salon you can get a coloring kit from your local drugstore, I highly suggests one that conditions and only go a few shades darker at a time. If you go from really light hair to fairly dark most people are in shock. So if you like the first shade you tried but still want darker wait til it's time for a touch up and then go a few more shades darker.I would like to take my pale hair darker considerably darker and do not want to go to the salon any suggestion
Honestly, you should go to a salon. Going darker isn't as easy as many think. It is actually trickier than going lighter. You can actually turn your hair green at which point you would have to go to a salon to correct it. Find a salon that has someone that specializes in coloring. Sorry, I know this isn't the answer you were looking for.I would like to take my pale hair darker considerably darker and do not want to go to the salon any suggestion
You could go buy some hair dye from the store? :P

I want to dye my hair blonde, but not at the salon....please helpppp?

okay i want to dye my hair blonde, but i don't have the money right now to go to a salon and spend over 100$ bucks on it!

does anyone have any tips on how to do it and what brands of color would work best for at-home coloring?I want to dye my hair blonde, but not at the salon....please helpppp?
just call around to your local salons...i get mine a Carol G for $45.....it's better to go to a salon and do it right the first time then to have to go back and buy like 10 boxes of hair color at the store to try and fix the mess you end up creating, haha! Trust me....I just went thru that last week!I want to dye my hair blonde, but not at the salon....please helpppp?
I dont know what your original hair color is but when dying blond you need more amonia/chlorine/bleach and that can turn your hair ORANGE.. it is best to wait til you round up the money and just go get it done right.
You could try REVLON hair dye which comes with directions on how to dye your hair.

    Hope this helped! :)
If going blonde is a drastic change for you, I'd wait until I could to a salon. If you don't want to wait, try a local beauty school. Students perform the services under direct supervision at greatly reduced cost.
dont die your hair by yourself!!!

you could do something wrong and scrrew up your hair!

save up money to go to a salon its totally worth it!
superior preference by LOreal works really good for blond hair

Does anyone know how much getting your hair braided at a salon normally costs?I have shoulder lengt thick hair

Check up AVON coz they have lot of advanced techniques for hair-styling and also moisturisers which could possibly help you best. See their new catalogue listed here and set up a date with a professional advisor or shop online at www.avon.com. it will also cost you less.Does anyone know how much getting your hair braided at a salon normally costs?I have shoulder lengt thick hair
It depends on how you are going to get it braided. Are you getting cornrows? If so how many? Will you be using extensions to add length or thickness? Are you getting micro-braids? All that determines the price a salon is going to charge for braiding your hair. Expect to pay at least 100 dollars if you are having extensions put in with your hair for the braiding. The more braids the higher the price.Does anyone know how much getting your hair braided at a salon normally costs?I have shoulder lengt thick hair
There is no set answer here. It really depends on the salon. A trendier salon can cost way more. Braiding is time consuming and it will depend on how you want it braided as well. Same braids mean more braids and more time. Think this way. If it takes 30 minutes for a shampoo and style and they charge say 40 bucks, in the same time they will do maybe 10-15 braids? I'm guessing it will run you about 125 dollars at a medium to discount salon.
I called once - and I think they charged by the braid - it was expensive to me....like around $30 for the whole head (for hair alittle past my chin)

I want to color my hair white, i was wondering how much would it cost in a salon and how do they do it?

my hair now is brown with red and height is about a lil below my shouldersI want to color my hair white, i was wondering how much would it cost in a salon and how do they do it?
Professionals even will need to bleach twice, or strip the hair and then bleach or lighten with color. Then they will have tone it, likely. This is called a two or three process color, meaning you will pay much more than you would for a regular color process. ex. 1 all over color at the salon you want costs 40 dollars, expect to pay about 100-120 dollars. Call around to get quotes. I used to work at Regis, and we would charge about this much for a process like this. You'll have to go back in for retouches every month to 6 weeks.

Your hair will be very fragile after the process. They may ask if you want to do a reconstruction treatment afterwards, which is a great idea. Your hair will be much more manageable. Get some products while you're there if you don't already have some, like Redken's extreme line or Biolage's fortetherapie line. You might get a discount for purchasing products with the service.I want to color my hair white, i was wondering how much would it cost in a salon and how do they do it?
just bleach da **** out of it lmao. okay, bleach ur hair at home. then put ur hair in one of those little bag thingies and u can see throgh the bag ur hair color, once u can TOTTALLY tell ALL OF UR HAIR is white, wait a few minutes just to be safe =P then wash it out and follow directions on da box. will cost about 20 bux. or get it done proffesionally and it will cost about 40-100 depending on how good they are.
u just bleach it. to get it white, bleaching strips the color off your hair and makes it white. the cost depends on where you go but it could be anywhere for $20-$50

Is it bad to buy salon brand hair products at any place other than a salon?

Example. J. Crew poructs at Fred Meyer'sIs it bad to buy salon brand hair products at any place other than a salon?
There are a few problems to consider before buying professional hair-care outside of a Salon:

-Possibility the product is counterfeit, especially for higher-end brands such as Kerastase or Bumble %26amp; Bumble

-Product may be expired which may-or-may-not be an issue depending on the formula (color treating products tend to be more affected by this)

-Formula may have been rejected by QC and during transit to being destroyed it was diverted

The other issues are less tangible, but if you support the brand you love, you can ';give back'; to the company by only purchasing from licensed Salons. Why?

-First off, if you spending 20+ dollars on hair-care you probably deserve to have a professional stylist advise you on the right product to use. By purchasing prouduct outside of the Salon you actually hurt your stylists income potential as a great deal of their success is from moving product

-You help erode the brand image. This a challenge for all manufacturers of luxary product lines, when their product is sold outside of the distribution networks they have defined it weakens their image. If you want to support your favorite brand, don't buy outside of Salon

To summarize the legal issues involved though, neither you nor the store you buy it from can be held liable. This is a contract issue between the brand and their customers. Brands may cancel their contracts with customers if they find out they are diverting. Is it bad to buy salon brand hair products at any place other than a salon?
You'll be fine. It saves you money. Besides, it's not like they're going to change the recipe so they can sell it at a place besides a salon. It'll be ok.
No. And honestly, I buy the generic versions of the brand name products at Sally Beauty and they work wonderfully and I save quite a bit.
It depends on the brand. Some sell their salon brand at places like Walmart, or they make another line especially for other stores, but some state very specifically that their products are only available at salons.

If you got it at the salon in the first place, keep getting it from there.
Yes, sometimes they can be old and not work as well as normal (personal experience). Also, if you buy from a salon and you don't like it, you can take it back and trade it for something else. They are only guaranteed if sold from a professional salon.
There are some products that are ONLY to be sold in salons. They can be available in drug stores but they are not authentic.

    FAQs

    What is diversion?

Diversion is product being sold outside of its authorized chain of distribution.

    Is diversion illegal?

Not technically. When diversion happens, there are breaches in contracts that occur but it is not illegal鈥攚e cannot go into retail stores and forcibly remove our product from the shelf.

How do drugstores, grocery stores and discount stores get Paul Mitchell product?

The product in mass retailers does not come from the manufacturer. There are wholesalers that supply those stores who are not affiliated with John Paul Mitchell Systems. Those same wholesalers go to great lengths to obtain product to sell to mass retailers. But, since it didn't come from us you can't be sure it is the real thing.

Is the salon product I buy at a grocery store, drugstore or on the internet the real thing?

Maybe, maybe not. The products found in grocery stores, drug stores or on the internet are either diverted, stolen, old, tampered with or counterfeit. The only way to guarantee professional salon product is genuine is to buy it at a professional hair salon or beauty supply where professional salon services are offered.

Is it safe to use these products?

It鈥檚 difficult to say. Independent lab tests conducted by FOX News on bottles purchased from a variety of mass retailers and grocery stores found enough bacteria that would make the user sick enough to require medical attention.
I've actually heard, from my hairdresser friend, that some shampoos sold outside of the salon... aren't exactly the same.
It's fine- go to the beauty supplier to save $.
No, its still the same product, just from a different place!
they are not the same!!! read the label, even on the bottle it says not to be sold outside of salons. they are usually expired or tampered with! never buy salon products at a grocery or drug store.

  • Straight Hair Salon Hair With Out The Hair Salon?

I went to the hair salon and got my hair done a few days ago. (my hair was nice, thin, straight and healthy looking) the lady you did my hair said that to make it look like this after I wash it I just had to blow dry it and then straighten it. I did exactly what she said. Now my hair is big and it looks NOTHING like it did when I left the hair salon. So what she told me didn't work. I was wounding if anyone knew how I could make my hair look like that again with out going back to the hair salonStraight Hair Salon Hair With Out The Hair Salon?

Do I need to wash my hair before getting a salon blow out?

Well I mean you don't want your hair to be disgusting, but my hair dresser always recommends to me to not wash my hair the night before im getting my hair styled, she says it helps to work with the hair easier, and it stays better if its not freshly clean, and obviously if the stylist determines your hair should be washed, then im sure they can just wash it for you at the salon. Hope I helped (:Do I need to wash my hair before getting a salon blow out?
If you wash your hair everyday, then this is probably not an option, but you are a ';every other day'; hair washer, then it's probably better to have your hair not-so-squeaky clean so it can hold its shape better.Do I need to wash my hair before getting a salon blow out?

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>HELP WiTH HAIR SALON!!? PLZ HEELP!?
You should consider going to a different salon...im not sure if they have saturdays around where you live, but they are affordable, %26amp;%26amp; in my area have GREAT stylists. If you can't find another salon, bring pictures %26amp;%26amp; if you bring more than one make sure that they are either the same persons hair style or be very sure that they are super similar cuts so the stylists do not get confused by the differences. Good luck! %26amp;%26amp; Have a good first day at school
I will NEVER go back to any salon. They have always cut my hair short. They never listen. Do you want to try this yourself? It can easily be done, even though it's scary to think of cutting your own.

Sparingly use the ponytail method. Cut it wet, after wash. Bring all your hair staight up over your head, so its all one length, hold it tight, and cut off an inch. One inch. Not more. (***if you already have any layers, this will not work unless you cut more, but DON'T) Dry your hair and see if thats the right layering length. I think it's just right on mine, but you can play with it. never think that you didnt cut off enough with the inch, though, for long layers, just because it doesn't look like enough when its on the floor or sink... this is where the salon people seem to get confused.

Is there anything a salon can do to straighten my hair for longer than a day?

i've tried all sorts of products and they dont work well enough. i still frizz in the humidity. please helpIs there anything a salon can do to straighten my hair for longer than a day?
Straighten perm is a procedure that changes your natural curly, wavy or frizzy hair into natural, shiny, straight hair permanently.

Its a special perm solution from Japan. This solution opens the cuticles of your hair. Then special straightening irons are used, which is the most important part to give you beautiful silky hair. Finally a neutralizer is used and this locks in the whole process. Each step has its own timing, and it can take 3 to 5 hours. And there are also more instructions to keep the perm intact.

Pros: You can have the Permanent strait hair look, smooth, and thin and if done correctly by a professional your hair will not be damaged.

Cons: it's permanentIs there anything a salon can do to straighten my hair for longer than a day?
use garnier nutrisse sleek and shine, it gets rid of any frizz for a few days, and there is gels and hair wax and mousse and get a hair straightner to straighten it all the way.if your hair gets damaged use dove therapy or damge control or watever it is called, it gets your hair healthy quicly and it looks shiny and clean
Frizz control products, there may not be a way unless you get a relaxer. But that weakens your hair.
Rebonding will work, its a bit expensive but it lasts till new hair grows. Plus ur hair becomes jet straight.

it will burn a bit and be uncomfortable but its nothing to freak out about or be scared of, its like this warm sensation..i think the smell is worse than the feeling.

I work in a salon so here is my advice..if you dont have a specific hairdresser, then mention to the receptionist that you would prefer someone with several years of experience and who speacilty is coloring. Dont go to a supercuts and you should be ok. And if the hairdresser makes u sign a waiver then be concerned maybe a little bit. good luck!
just go to a high-end salon, it's worth the $. go for it honey boys like blonde hair, and if it's short, get extentions. that'll be hot. and it doesn't hurt if they do it right- they'll do it right if you go to a reputable salon. and be prepared to get it done every 2 months if you have dark hair or it'll look like s*** when it grows out good luck babygirl

What is the best non-salon shampoo and conditioner? I have very dry hair but I'm tired of spending so much $$$?

I used to use the Matrix Sleek Look line, which is a salon brand, and like you got tired of spending so much to get the look I wanted so I set out to find something comparable. I tried Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine, and although it smells wonderful, it doesn't work nearly as well as the salon brand. Then as a last effort I bought the cheapest shampoo EVER... Suave Sleek. Its awesome. works just as well as the salon brand. I also use the healthy curls collection, also by suave. Good Luck, hope that helps :)What is the best non-salon shampoo and conditioner? I have very dry hair but I'm tired of spending so much $$$?
Try John Freda's collection of root awakening shampoo, conditioner %26amp; health boosting detangling spray. I use a lot of heat in my hair to straighten it so this leaves my hair dry %26amp; frizzy but John Frieda's collection has done a great job. Make sure you use the health boosting detangling spray as this gives a brilliant shine %26amp; also acts as a heat protectent.

The shampoo, conditioner %26amp; detangling spary comes for approximately $20 %26amp; they are worth it.

EAT healthy. Protein rich diet with sufficient vitamin E will nourish your hair from within. What is the best non-salon shampoo and conditioner? I have very dry hair but I'm tired of spending so much $$$?
Do you have a health food store near you? Some of the organic brands costing about $7.00 a bottle are fabulous, and gentle to your hair. Jason's and Giovanni's are very good natural brands.
aussie moist shampoo %26amp; conditioner works great it hydrates hair leaving it smooth shiny.

i have darkish to medium brown hair %26amp; blue eyes. it's very long but i love it long :]

Well I had medium brown hair and dyed my hair chocolate brown. I told her I didn't want it to look a dull and boring brown so she mixed 4 different shades of brown to get a chocolate brown result with tons of shine and just a really beautiful color. In the end you will only have one solid color but they can mix a few different colors together to get the perfect shade that you have in mind. You can ask for the die that adds highlights to your hair. Most dies do though.

Can you tell me how much they charge for this service?

And which stylist you recommend there?

I was conned 4 years ago by an ameteur stylist and lost all my hair. Was too trusting and didn't do my research then. I learned my lesson. Have had very good results from Dominican salons most recently but will try others.

Thanks in advance for your help. Can anyone recommend a good salon in Manhattan/Harlem for a relaxer (touchup) for African American hair?

  • Can i have gel and hair spray in my hair when i go to the salon?

would my hair still be able to dye?Can i have gel and hair spray in my hair when i go to the salon?
No, don't put any in. Gel and hair spray will stop the dye working right and it could react badly with it. It will also make your hair hard to work with for the hairdresser, and they might have to wash it out for you. Meaning, possible added costs and its going to take longer. They will probably offer to style it for you after dyeing, so don't bother. Can i have gel and hair spray in my hair when i go to the salon?
I wouldn't. You should wash it with a clarifying shampoo before you head to the salon. It'll wash away all the styling products and make it easier to handle.
The stylist will wash it out and when she/he's done she/he'll restyle it, no worries
dont do it just in case. just keep it natural. they might wash it anyway
yes u can they usely will shampoo ur hair before dying so yes u can

How much does a salon cost to get your hair bleached blonde there?

idk im dont get my hair bleachedHow much does a salon cost to get your hair bleached blonde there?
Also depends where you live. Beside the great answer the stylist just gave, I know for a fact that if you live in a metropolitan area like me (Miami, FL) it costs an arm and a leg. So I get my hair done when I go visit my friend in Houston TX - the same thing costs me half the price over there and I totally trust the colorist - I asked for her credentials. How much does a salon cost to get your hair bleached blonde there?
im a stylist...it really depends on the builup you have....how dark it is now...if its home color(can be tricky to remove) and the amount of products used for you to achieve the look you want. its considered a correction....takes a lot of time as well.....prob around $100....thats not including a stlye or a haircut...so maybe around 160
depends how long youre hair is!!! but at mine its 41.00 dollars but again DEPENDS!

Should I strip my hair or bleach it..? At a salon or at home?

I kind of want to go blonde. My natural hair color is very dark brown. As a kid I was blonde but my hair slowly turned darker and darker... and now i want to have short blonde hair so i can add other semi-permanent colors to it.

Should I go to a salon or can I do something at home?

help please.Should I strip my hair or bleach it..? At a salon or at home?
please go get a professional consultation.

I'm a professional colorist. i do a lot of color correction for people who have tried to go lighter at home, and come in with a brassy, orange, over processed mess. you are talking at least 6 levels of lift. you can not get this out of a box from the drugstore, no matter what the box tells you. they are trying to sell you a product, and don't care if you break all your hair off or not.

you can go blonde in phases. if you do it all in one shot, you will end up with damaged hair.

dark brown hair has red/orange undertones. trying to lift it too fast will expose the contributing pigment. but with the right products, and someone who knows what they are doing, and is watching it closely, a pretty pale blonde can be achieved with minimal damage.

i hope this helps. feel free to email me if you have any questions.Should I strip my hair or bleach it..? At a salon or at home?
go to a salon.... unless you know how to do it professionally yourself. Bleaching it is enough stress on your hair %26amp; you want it done the right way or you'll completley fry your head.
    definitely go to a salon
There you go! 3 great answers up there...
